THE HOUSE OF HONEY

The House of Honey management was the first to appear on our doorsteps when the House of Olives started its business. Thus begun a sincere cooperation and a desire for mutual learning. The product of the House of Honey, “Montenegrin honey”, is the pride of Montenegro. It represents the wealth of honey-bearing plants from the most beautiful lands poured into a jar of honey.

Opened on the Statehood Day of Montenegro in 2016, the House of Honey is a joint project of the Government of Montenegro, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Montenegro and the Union of Beekeeping Organizations of Montenegro. It is the national center for the development of beekeeping, and by purchasing honey, it ensures safe placement of the healthiest sweetener throughout the country. Their dedication, diligence and love for bees has been translated into high-quality, modern-branded honey, which you can find in our Gastro shop. The annual purchase of about five tons of honey and the processing of about 20 tons of beeswax, the production of supplementary food for bees and the distribution of “Montenegrin honey” through two retail chains is the standard by which the House of Olives aspires to abide and mimic in its business.

The House of Honey inspired us to get into the project of creating Montenegro Olive Oil, which would translate the harmony of tradition and innovation of olive oil production into a product whose quality would be the pride of all citizens of Bar and Montenegro.
